Nioh pc keyboard mapping
The early levels-an abandoned village and mansion courtyard-rely on open spaces (looking at you, horrible mountain pass) where the end goal is often visible from the start, obstructed by a convenient swath of fire, a sheer cliff face, or a one-way door. I was initially disappointed in the level design, but the zones get better throughout. Nioh’s combat is dodgy, in a good way, but the levels can be touch-and-go. And with all that extra complexity, Nioh does a great job meeting the standard for easy(ish) to learn and difficult to master. Tracking your enemies’ Ki, adjusting stances, and unlocking additional combos for each weapon all add extra layers to Nioh’s combat, turning it into a unique system rather than a borrowed one. More importantly, a Ki Pulse can cleanse the influence of a Yokai Realm if it’s triggered while standing in one.īetween swapping stances mid-fight and learning to weave pulses between my attacks to keep my Ki topped off, Nioh’s combat stays fast-paced and gratifying, bringing a rhythm to fights that isn’t possible with only a lock-on-and-dodge system. After attacking, there’s a short window to recoup some of the spent Ki with a button press. One solution is to play “the floor is lava” and just deal with multiple AOEs piling up. Nioh’s combat stays fast-paced and gratifying, bringing a rhythm to fights that isn’t possible with only a lock-on-and-dodge system. While standing in it, they become stronger and you can’t regenerate Ki. Demons, from the horned hulks to the cycloptic children, all have an attack that places a distinctly demonic, misty looking area-of-effect on the ground. I wouldn't expect that to change much in the near future unless maybe their sales numbers were to shift more toward PC.Yokai Realm zones are the best kind of battlefield hopscotch. They're not awful, but they're definitely not what someone who hangs out here would typically expect IMO. I'd imagine most games from them would suffer from some of the above when they hit the PC. (which is unlikely since they don't treat the PC market the way it expects to be treated) I wouldn't expect that to change much in the near future unless maybe their sales numbers were to shift more toward PC. They also left out a few of their graphical effects, but it's not quite as bad as people in some forums would have you believe. The game actually plays fine, looks good, runs fast and smooth, and functions as well as I'd expect within certain parameters.īasically, if you have a pair of gamepads that's known to work well with it, you're ok with 1080/60, and your system is generally stable (I meet these criteria ) then the game runs perfectly well, and is a decent alternative if you don't have a console to play the game on, or at least not in the room you want to play in. I doubt that it's 100% the latter, but maybe some combination of the former.ĭOA5 is a good example. It may be that they just don't see much value in non-console ports, or maybe they are just not in touch with the PC gaming culture, or they just plain don't care.

NIOH PC KEYBOARD MAPPING PS4
With that said this title was well received on PS4 so I'm more optimistic that the game will run well. Even if you can wait a couple of hours to read the issues on Steam, it might save you a few headaches. Koei Tecmo ports have gotten better lately, but they are known for shoddy work in the past. Remember who the publisher is and make sure that the game runs right before purchasing it. In short there are a few other activities that you can progress while still playing the game.Īnyway I think that a Dark Souls fan will enjoy this title. I remember there being pools that you had to jump in for achievements. There are collectibles to find in the game for those that want to 100% the game. Hell the regular enemies will crush you if you get it wrong. But it is very demanding, and requires lots of attention to boss mechanics. It deviates from the Dark Souls formula enough to stand on its own two feet. I watched Man vs Game streams of Nioh and I can say that it is one of the best games that came out on the PS4.
